i always thought its a grand because i have seen solomon islands females, they are alot brighter in colors than bird in pic(not too good). also the tail of the solomon islands female is similar to the tail of the red-sided electus female(but shorter) which is maroon with a 1-inch red band at the end. the bird in above pic has a red orange band tipped with quite a fair bit of dusty yellow. and at time in better light the yellow is quite bright. ??

yep, i needa look at ur bird in real so say if it is a solomon or not, from the picture, the colour is very bright. solomon is smaller in size than most eclectus sub species too.

Ever since I saw a yellow-streaked lory, I have the greatest fondness for that particular bird.
I have been keeping out an eye for the ys lory but never seen it in the shops here. You know of anyone with the ys lory? Shanlung |
