Help! My rabbit has been making strange gruntingsounds!

This is Sweet Pea, named after a beautiful flower (not edible peas, whatever were you thinking!?!).

She was the runt of the litter. She was partly bald, with her fur and bald areas forming a weird V-shaped formation (which I found later is the hallmark of double-maned lionhead rabbit babies). She was the slowest to develop, and I really thought she was deformed or disabled in some way. Hence, the name, to wish her a good and beautiful life.

All her other siblings have been re-homed. The last 2 of her siblings to be re-homed were sent to Kindercraftland's home on Thursday.

Since then she's been sad as she's never been alone till now. I have been trying to bond her with her younger siblings (from another litter) to no avail. She just lunges at them, even though they are smaller and just eating happily away.

Since yesterday, she's been making weird grunting sounds whenever I try to carry her. It's hard to describe. Something like 'orh orh'. It's not very loud but i find it alarming as I have never heard any of my bunnies make any noise!
I think she's afraid as it must be alarming to see her siblings "disappear" pair by pair.

Can someone advise me why she's making such sounds and what I can do to help her? Thank you!

Hey sweet pea. Is that why my topsy had a sort of v- shaped bald patch?? i thought there was something wrong with my Topsy at first! Anyhow, Topsy went to a friend and i was told she is beautifully furry. She must have inherited her mane from her lionhead father!

As for grunting - my flossie is the only grunter. She grunts when she is annoyed, usually when we mess with her food or poo and pee. Could be your sweet pea - how old now? adolescent? is showing signs of teenage angst and aggression. Hope it passes. Flossie only acts like that when she's pregnant or when she is upset with us for one reason or another - such as after grooming!!
