Discus Bred in Thailand
Hello again, this is the continuation of the visit to my associate farm in Korat in the Northeast of Thailand. Motoro freshwater rays is one of the many species that our facility breed. The main staple of our Korat Farm facility is actually Discus (Pompadua) breeding. The second serie of my pictorial tour will be our Discus operation. The person that you see walking me around the farm is my friend Mr.Noi, the proprietor of the facility. I spent two days with him and he took really good care of me. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for the kind hospitality. I showed him around Petsfanatics forums last night and he really enjoyed the Chinchilla section. He has been trying to get one.
![]() The aquarium tanks that you see is the main breeding facility for all the Discus. You will also see the various breeding pairs at work.

Discus Bred in Thailand
Here are more pictures of the Discus breeding. When you see a circular net wrap around one of the parent fish means that there are already baby flying around. If you do not separate the fish they will compete at trying to take care of the babies and may even fight each other.
You will also see the other breeding stocks that we keep as the next generation. Only fish that are over six inches are used in the breeding.

Here are the pictures of the babies that are at the farm. Our production is quite prolific. For every brood we get more than 200 babies by average. Actually the different kinds of Discus will produce different quantity of offsprings. We get from 50 babies all the way to 300 babies per brood.
