this site, by UC Davis, has some good information as well as some interesting research supported by the Winn Feline foundation and the UC Davis school of veterinary medicine. They also carry out dna testing for coat colors, which to my current knowledge, is not available anywhere else..or at least.. it isnt until u ask

especially for breeds with new colors or if trying to determine a certain color gene.. this is a good test for serious breeders to undertake(send ur cat's blood over).there is also some good info on breed specific disease like PKD in persians and cats with persian lineage as well as HCM
