Geert Coppens from Belgium is a very reputable ranchu hobbyist. He had bred ranchu for more than 15 years. His aim is to unite Japanese Goldfish fanciers in Europe and to exchange information and preserve the Japanese Goldfish in Europe the way they are bred and kept in Japan.
Greet Coppens travelled extensively in Japan and had met several top ranchu breeders where they shared and exchanged knowledge in ranchu breeding, keeping and grooming. As a hobby he also breeds Japanese chickens - Yamato Gunkei, Ko Shamo & Higo Chabo - He has written two books concerning Japanese chickens. These books are written in Dutch, English and Japanese.
