Unhappy "Bruno" My red Tailed - Cross Back

Hi Perhaps it is time I paid a tribute of sorts to one of my Ex Arrowana's.

He was called "Bruno".

I got him from my Neighbour when he was about 8 months old. It was a gift to me for helping him solve some HDB problems that he was encountering at that time.

I don't have a picture of Him off hand with me now, but I will post it soon enough.

By the time I got him he was already a big boy almost 9 inches, he was suffering from potruding gills, and was constantly biting his tail fin. He was being fed pork bits since he was bought.

I kept him for 6 years after that, he was a clever fish and loved it when my mother talked to him. He would also show his usual energy burst when we walked in the door.

In fact we thought it was just the opening of the door that excited him, but we soon found out that, the greeting of swiming around fast in his tank was reserved for just me and my mother only.

He would sorta look through the glass and would swim away slowly if it was someone else who was opening the door.

He loved his weekly treat of huge frogs and Bugs. I can almost swear he would know when I am happy and when I am sad.

It is now 3 years after his passing over the bridge, My Family and me still mourn his loss, and we hope one day we will see him again when we all go to meet our maker.

He was 16 inches plus when he died, and he passed away peacefully one saturday morning leaving behind, a 7 feet custom made tank by " Green sea Aquarium" and a Family that still thinks of him every now and then.

Adios Bruno hope they feed you frogs and bugs wherever you are right now.

David,
I understand how you felt. My dad used to have an arowana too and the fish was with us for 12 years. When we had him he's already an adult fish.
