Plywood for nest box

Hi,

I intend to make a nest box for my pet to sleep. Wish to know if I can use ordinary 1/2" thick plywood to make the nest box. Whether it is safe if my parrot chew and even sollow some of the wood.

Plywood is the most common material for making nestboxes. It is generally safe for the birds to bite. But half an inch is abit too thin for the larger parrots.. They can easily bite through it..

I'm using 1/2 inch ply for my nest boxes and they're good enough for most small and medium size parrot. Just my opinion.
