Advice
Hi there,
The painless trimming of flight feathers is known as Clipping. This is generally used to reduce flight in pet birds. Just like a haircut, these flight feathers will grow back after few months. Note that different people will share different views on clipping with you. Popular choices of birds for beginners include budgies, lovies and tiels. These birds suggested are affordable (below $80) and are easy to keep. Hope this helps! |

Hi Doraemon82, Glad to hear that you are interesting in bird as pets ...Actually as Orangeboy mention, wing clipping has good and bad side of it...some of the good side is the bird will not fly away (escape), and there are case that they are less agressive while the wing feather is clipped. However, there are the opposite side of it i.e. the bird will not able to/ not know how to fly, sometimes hurt themself as they may fall or involve in 'accident', and it also can become easy prey for predator like cat etc etc... love bird is very cute bird if you get a tame handfed bird. I used to have some (which I breed myself)... I think even if you buy from pets shop also not very expensive... however, if you buy adult non handfeed bird, it will bite and not tame easily... some time not tame at all... best of luck. |
