Allergic to Chicken?

Do any of you have, or know of any dog that is allergic to chicken? My own dog is. She breaks out in all kinds of skin problems when I feed her chicken. And it took repeated trips to the vet before he was able to find the cause. *groan*

And it's when I was working in a pet shop for a short while, then I realised it might be a common problem. Cos many customers ask for chicken-free treats, or lamb/fish/vege-based dog food for their dogs. And when I suggest chicken for the latter group, they'll all cite allergy. That sounds like a big problem to me, and actually, I do find it inconvenient. SO many of the dog treats are chicken-based!! Right now, the only treats my dog gets are lamb/pork jerkies and organic dog biscuits. And my dog's not so hot abt fish treats, so that's out for her.

Poor thing... My previous JRT also allergic to chicken. Worst, he can't even take lamb & rice kibbles! He was on Hill's Prescription Diet (Potato & Fish), how boring... Its impossible to buy treats for him.

My friend has a JRT who is allergic to chicken, beef & pork. So the only meal that he can have is lamb & fish. Also very poor thing.
