Youth For Causes - SPCA Funds Raising 05 Aug 2006
Piloted in 2003 to commemorate the centennial celebrations of both Citibank and YMCA in Singapore, the Citibank-YMCA Youth For Causes programme has proven to be a runaway success. It has since grown from strength to strength, receiving prestigious endorsement on a national level by President S R Nathan as an event of President’s Challenge 2006.
70 cruelty complaints in a month. 1000 unwanted animals taken in monthly. 150 animals housed in SPCA. The rest are, regrettably, put to sleep... forever. A team of 4 NTU students have come together to organise a jigsaw puzzle challenge to raise funds for SPCA Singapore for their operations. The challenge? To assemble pieces of interlocking dreams of the animals, birds and staff of SPCA into a sizable 4m by 3m complete picture. This event is in conjunction with the Citibank-YMCA Youth for Causes Socio-entrepreneurial Initiative and part of President's Challenge 2006. Purchase the jigsaw puzzle pieces at $5 a set and assemble it yourself at The Heeren Shops. See how all the individual pieces create a picture worth of a thousand words that can never be conveyed by the animals. See the SPCA's animals live in action at The Heeren Shops, thanking you for your selfless contribution.Piece a dream for the animals. Help them.
