Hi,
females should not be mated till they are at least 6 months old. Preferably when they are at least 600grams. Hence, i would suggest that u seperate your chins for now till they are older. |

6 months is generally too young. Most experienced breeders would say nine months to a year. Chins are generally still growing at 6 months and it would affect the growth of the female if she were pregnant while still growing.
Look at it this way; it is theoretically possible for a human female to be pregnant at the age of 14 but I don't think it is something a lot of doctors would recommend. In addition, you need to consider what color your chin is. I have found that ebonies, violets, and TOV chins tend to mature more slowly and contrinue to grow for more than 18 months. In this particular situation I would suggest separating the two chins ASAP. If the female is already pregnant there is not much that can be done but if she is nto why risk it? If you are worried that they will be lonely you can place their cages next to each other so that they can continue to see each other. You have to remember that you have a responsibility to your chins. If you are concerned that they will be lonely you could always spend more time playing with each of them so that they have you as a companion instead of each other. |

I would also like to add, that whites also tend to mature later. The fastest would be Std Grey and Beiges, even then try not to breed them till at least 9 months. Just to thread on the safe side.

Actually, i find ebonies, violets, sapphires the slowest to mature. 6 months would be the general information found on the net. The bare minimum. Best, as mentioned by wk, is 9 mths plus. However, look at the weight too.
