Stick to a reputable established brand of dry food that works with your dog. Home cooked food is ok provided you know the nutritional needs of the dog is fully provided. The disadvantage with home cooked meals is that the dog will most likely reject dry food. You then have to always make it available even when the 'cook' is busy or unavailable.

but sometimes my mum will cook veggie, chicken neck and wing, pork liver, carrot and rice for dash..

am i feeding her correctly?

Dog food

I dont know if other members here agree but miniature schnauzer are fussy eaters. So since my dog is young, I tried to stick to the dry food. When I first got her from the pet shop, she was on Science Diet. We have since tried Abady, Azmira and Timberwolf. In the end we still go back to Solid Gold lamb and rice as it has been her dry food for a number of years.

We did not keep her on Abady because she had loose poo for more than a week despite us reducing the amount given to her. So we stopped. Same for Azmira. As for timberwolf, she didnt quite like it. So now it's back to Solid Gold.

I just bought a bag of Nature Variety or Praire but I have not given her yet as I still have Solid Gold left. Will feed her on Nature Variety once the Solid Gold finishes.

I do not feed Gin with canned food because of the mess on her beard. I give her one boilled chicken breast meat once a week, sometimes with an egg too.

When she was younger, I used to feed her evening primose oil 1000mg daily to let her have nice coat and stop the schnauzer bumps. It works! Now, I do not need to feed her this supplement and she is still doing very well.

Hey me too! My golden really loves Addiction dehydrated food! She's currently on the Fig'licious Venison Feast. I mix it with Addiction's Kangaroo dry food. Only prob is that I think that she'll be so spoilt after this, and won't want to eat other food!
