Toilet Training

Think there are alot more to learn from u. Hope u can advise me more on puppy training, love & care in future...

But I think it's still very young for my puppy now to start training.

When is the best time to bring him to the vet? I suspect his hind right leg is abit distorted. I also notice when he runs, he seems to be running sideways. Is it normal?

Studies have shown that puppies as young as 4 weeks old is capable of learning. I'll simplify it for you - take a tiny treat or his favourite toy in your hand. Lure the puppy to the position you want, like SIT, DOWN, COME. He wants the thing in your hand badly and you want him to do the thing you asked, Just wait for him to deliver the "goods" (behaviour) and you pay him with the thing he wants. Keep repeating short sessions daily and he'll soon think he got you trained...kekeke - "To get you to give me a yummy cookie all I have to do is rest my bum on the floor"

If it's something out of the usual it is wise to consult your Vet, really.

Certainly a 4 year old dog can be trained, be it a Chihuahua or a St Bernard. No dog is too old to be trained. It's not true that you can't teach old dogs new tricks
Probably the previous owner didn't tell the truth in order to dispose of the dog. In anycase a new environment can cause a toilet trained dog to slip in his good toilet habits. I recommend you read the beginning of this tread and follow the steps.
