Directions to the 2nd ATRS 2005 - Suanluang Rama 9
First of all for those of you coming from out of town, I suggest that you use a Taxi to save time. Sunday morning is a good time, and the traffic will be rather light. For those who would like to use the public bus use Bus No. 133, 145, 206, 207, 1013, and for air conditioned bus, use No. 145, 206, 207, and 537 to go to the Seri Center. After that it is a rather short walk to the park.
The first map is the Google Earth map of the area around the Suanluang Rama 9, which is located off the Srinakarin Road. The top left of the picture you will see a big rectangle building, and that's the Seacon Square Shopping Mall. Seacon Square is situated right on Srinakarin Road. Two blocks south on the Srinakarin Road, you will also see another big rectangle building with a rather large garden on the roof, and that is the Seri Center Shopping Mall. The road leading to the entrance of the Suanluang Rama 9 is right next to the Seri Center and in between the Seacon Square Mall. If you follow that sidestreet all the way to the right you will find that it leads right to the Suanluang Rama 9 Park. Please notice the round building next to the lake as a landmark of the Park. The next map that I will include will actually be in Thai, but it would help to expand the Google map considerably. At the bottom right hand side of the coloured map you will see a round blue building (with black Thai letters) and that's the Seacon Square Mall, while the dark blue square to the right (with black Thai letters) is the Seri Center. The red letter represent the entrance gate (Gate 5: Montarop gate) to the Park. For those of you who are bring your ranchu for the competition. There will be a guard at Gate 5 of the Suanluang Rama 9 Park, there are no parking in side the park, but you could tell the guard that you are dropping the fish off at the show, you will be allowed to enter with your car. Follow the dotted red line, which is actually not too far inside the entrance gate, and you will see the tents for the show right next to the Botanical Garden. Drop off your fish, and we will give you a cue number and we will take care of the rest. You could request to release your own fish and our staff will wait for your arrival after parking the car. We will be at the Show since 7 am to make sure that every thing is well prepared for every one's arrival. Feel free to come early, at 10.30 on the dot, we will close for competition entry and will begin. The earlier we finish, the earlier we can start the Ranchu Workshop and the Q & A about the judging in the Show. This section of the activities is to educate the competitions enthusiasts at the Show and to increase the knowledge concerning competition standards and breeding in general. The last map that I will include will be the area map inside the park. They separated the park into 6 major areas. The Botanical Garden is only one part of the Park. The Park is quite large and very nice to hang out. I will leave the details so that you will be able to explore a bit on your own. The Botanical Garden part is in Green. The Show will be located towards the front part of the Botanical Garden not to far from the Entrance Gate (Gate 5- Montarop Gate). The last picture on this thread will be the Best in Show Cup that the Competition Committee agreed on for the Best in Show Cup. On behalf of the Ranchu Aprreciation 2547 Club, we would like to cordially invite any of you who will happen to be in Bangkok during the next weekend (3-4 December 2005) to come by and check us out. The Crown Princess Cup and the National Champion Title on the line, there are sure to be a big turn out and there will be quite a lot of beautiful ranchu to be seen. You will also have a chance to go one-on-one with some of the best breeders from Japan, namely Mr.Oishi and Mr. Kashino. This is an opportunity not to be missed. See you at the Show, ok. For further details and assistance, please PM me here or contact me at AbsoluteRanchu@yahoo.com or +661-8553399. Sawasdee krap and see you at the Show. ![]()

Hello every one. I am sorry about the slowness in reporting the going's on at the 2nd ATRS 2005 at the Suanluang Rama IX Park. I took the judges to relax after the Show at Pattaya and Mr.Kashino left yesterday, while Mr.Oishi will be leaving Thailand this Sunday. While we were in Pattaya, we went go cart racing and Yours Truly, got into a bit of an accident and still recovering from the wounds. It hurts, but it was fun, nonetheless. Any how, I will start to process the pictures this evening and should have something to show every one soon.
The Show was a great success, there were over 200 pieces of ranchu showed up for the Show. From the report from the judges, they said that the quality of the fish that came to the Show this year has all improved in quality. Usually the winners in the lower ranks will be of much lower quality, but this year both judges mentioned that the quality were quite close. This is definitely a good sign for the keepers in Thailand. There were quite a lot of interesting activities and many beatiful Pretties around the 2nd ATRS 2005. Please stay tune, and I will have all the pics and info for your viewing pleasure. Sawasdee krap.

Sawasde krap to every one,
It has been quite a long week for me already since returning from India. I was a little under the weather for quite a bit (it's so nice and cool about 20 celcius during the day and in the teens at night, but most terreble for my cold). The weather in Bangkok was getting to be pretty similar to northern India and Nepal. Now that was something that I didn't count on. I have just finished processing the pictures from the 2nd ATRS 2005, and what can I say. There were hundreds to go through, but the effort was quite worth it since there were so many pictures to help show all of you who were not present to participate. There were over 250 fish that showed up for the Show. There were so many waiting to register that we have to delay the proceedings by almost 45 minutes. Any how, it was a very good turn out and the ranchu were all quite amazing. I will start a new thread to show all the pictures. Please stay tuned aight. ![]()
