That's always a good thing. Ranchu that changes colour later than their siblings are usually a very good sign. They spend more time as babies which is very good for their adult life. Usually they will be better develop. Any how, keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing the pics.

With frozen BW, and dapphnia, you can feed many times a day, as long as you make sure that you do not leave any left overs to spoil the water. Also watch for the water quality, with fresh food fish will have more waste so be vigilant about water quality. With pellet feed, you do not need to give a lot to young babies, just a bit to supplement. Make sure that you soak the pellet at least 10 minutes prior to feeding and make sure that the fish will finish all the food in 5-10 minutes (be strict).

Agreed with RBT, but please give the time for ranchus to digest/absorb the foods, especially for pellet, it is more longer for ranchus to digest this. The best time to feed is every 2 hour. Let say you start to feed your ranchus (assumed your BBR now is more than 1 month) at 8 AM--daphnia, 10 AM--bloodworm, 12 AM--pellet (soak this pellet for 10-15 minutes), 2 PM--daphnia, 4 PM--bloodworm. Soak daphnia and bloodworm in the methylene blue prior to feeding (the standard is one drop methylene blue concentrate to 2 litres of water), this is important to kill the germ or bacteria that live in frozen BW and daphnia. And please send me the latest picture of your BBR so I can give my opinion. Good luck.

One caution that I would like to interject here, that is be very careful dealing with medications. Such medicine like Methalyne Blue or Malakyte Green are wonderful and effective but they are very dangerous since they cause cancer in human. Always wear gloves or protective garments to protect yourself, and always mix proper proportion for fish (exact measures required) in order to be most effective.

I would like to suggest another alternative which is to use ozone for the cleaning of the live feeds, it is much more effective particularly with viruses, parasites and their eggs. Ozone itself is quite toxic, but only if you come in direct contact with them. Ozone that's left over in the water will turn themselves to oxygen in due course, thus leaving no toxicity in the water whatsoever.

The point that Ton made about giving enough time for proper digestation of GF is quite valid and important. Improper feeding technique (for pellet feeds) and too much feeding are two leading causes of infection in GF's stomach that leads to the incurable condition of bloated stomach. A good rule of thumb for beginners is that after you feed the pellet food, wait until you see your fish shit a bit first before giving any more food. The time lapse will be around 2 - 3 hours on average as suggested by Ton, as well.

Thank you very much for your kind comments, it is great to get good advices from old hands. Cheers.

Very nice and clear pictures. One comment concerning the size, they are a bit small. I think that you can increase the BW, or artemia and forget about the pellet feed for the time being. (If you want to add pellet food at this time, try the Tetra flakes only. It will make it easier for you fish to disseminate the nutrients.) You want them to be more plump. The colours are a bit pale, but that can be easily fixed. If you keep the fish indoor, I suggest that you should find an additional source of vitamins and minerals for your GF. The lack, thereof, will bare negative effects on your fish developments in thelong run. If you could find any vegetable for your fish will also help.

Keep up the good work.

From last two days I have increase the BW from 1 block to 3 blocks, and other hobiist said try to give 5 blocks and watch if they can eat it all within 1-2 hours, if the need more than 2 hours than I have to decrease it.
I keep the fish indoor, what is additional source vitamins and mineral should I give to them, or better I keep them outdoor?

Thanks,
Yudi
