DOG TRAINER
It's good to start off with lots of contact with dogs to gain real working experience before actually embarking on a formal course. Try and find "work" in a Vet clinic, a Pet farm, a Pet shop, volunteer at SPCA or apprentice under a Trainer who is willing to take you under his wings. Participate in Kennel Club trials with your dog and offer your time to assist in Obedience class and work your way up. After gaining some experience then you may want to enrol in a foriegn Dog Instructor School to have yourself certified. This all round exposure will give you greater confidence and set you apart from the rest in the business. GROOMING is very much same. A number of grooming schools have been established locally in the past few years. To determine which is a good one you should try and see the work of their graduates as well as talk to ex-students to get feedbacks. Lots of very good groomers around the world are self taught by observation or worked as an apprentice under an experienced person. What's important is lots of practice. Make friends with the show dog people in the Kennel club. They usually have a very good grasp of the styling of breed they keep. Most people are more than willing to share their knowledge if you are humble and polite enough to ask. If you can afford it you could enrol in a formal course in England or America for example. You are welcomed to contact me for a private chat. Quote:
