thks dogcom for ur compliment

normally i'll weight all my parrots, and if their wt drop i will feed them sunflower seeds in order to push up their wt again...but i dun juz feed sunflower seed alone...there will be celery, babana or corn and grapes...and after a day or 2,their wt will be on their standard liao...and if i really wanna make them fat n healthy,i will feed them say 2 tablespoon of sunflower seed,2 grapes,1 one cm size of banana and some greens...at times u can even give ur birds some fruit juice and yakult too (moderate form only)

Besides fruits, process pallet and 'kua chi', I gave my parrots sprout beans as main diet. Beans like soya, green, red, black,'kacang kuda', ground nut and so on...Of course u must soak it for 2 night b4 let them eat.

This one is good, try feed them wif meal worm too. May be they dun touch it at first, u must be patient. It is good insect protein supplement.

I agree with Angel....

Sunflower seeds [ Any high protien seeds ] on a per day diet basis, a 80% sunflower seed [ Any high protien seeds ] and 20% fruit diet for a period of say [ two weeks ] does imrpove thier size.

But do bear in mind that a pro-longed diet of such is detrimental to thier health.

Don't get carried away.

Just stick to that fortnight of that diet and introduce it again perhaps two months or so later.

Remember don't try to make them grow to fast.

They do grow old, Winston C'Hills parrots was above 100= years old.

Regards......

Parrot are birds and don't have an enzyme to digest the lactose sugar found in milk. In small amounts, it may be okay but it is better to avoid giving milk to birds! The lactose justs feeds their gut bacteria and may cause gastrointestinal (belly) upsets and diarrhoea.

In the early days, people did not know better and fed birds especially canaries chicks with milk-products, many turned out fine but would you like to feed a human infant diet coke??

Regards
