Barraband Parakeets are also called Superb Parakeets. They can be tamed if handreared from young. Very much more difficult if they are older - few people have done it

Is yours a male or female? You can visit http://www.p-pp.tv/articles/barraband_parakeet/ to learn more about them.

Regards

Rupert

Taming an animal or a bird got a lot to do with building TRUST. Often any aggression is out of fear. If your bird is beginning to take food from you, in this case I presume you are talking about taking off you hand, it's progressing in the right direction. Work on building confidence and trust on you. Don't do things that frightens the bird - loud noise, sudden movements of hand gestures or object. Approach and speak to bird in a calm low tone voice. The saying "the way to a person's heart is through the stomach" also applies to animals and birds. Feed more by hand than by the food cup. Feed by hand before meals. ;)

In this case, do your cockatiel and rosella is also a tame birds? If they are handfed and tame, this will help your parakeet to trust you and will make the process easier. However, if his neighbour is not tame...I think it will take longer time for you...compared to seperate them into different cage.

Btw, seem like it is good progress. :)
