How long does SPCA keeps a lost pet found?

Yesterday I was at the singapore kennel club dogshow to see the competitions and overhead from some guys selling some USA dog foods talking to a customer that spca will only keep the lost dog for 1 week only before put to sleep.

Is this true?
I do not have a dog yet as looking to adopt.

Answering to my own question. :p

Finally got through the line of SPCA and found out that it is about 1 week to 1 month working with the animal control before it is put down if not claimed.

It is really too short if the dog is not identified within that short period. :(

well there are incidents that happen like someone lost a dog but didnt think of reporting it to spca...then after 2 weeks time of searching, they remember they miss out reporting to spca so went over to report...guess wat....the dog they lost have been PTS by spca the day before...sad case
