Somebody help? amazon.....

Hi guys, recently i bought an amazon.. it's very shy.. and whenever i try to put my fingers near, it scream! what can i do to make the bird calm down more?

Is this bird tame?
To be honest there can be alot of factors that can lead to this problem. If it is a rehome bird, try to get more info from the ex-owner.

Mr Silvanus, thanks for your reply.. As for the bird, it's tamed, and it don't bite and dont allow handling. If i were to put him in the cage, how can i get him out then? It will always scream and avoid my hand everytime i try to get near to him.

A tame bird should let you handle and this bird is likely to be semi-tame. Try feeding the bird with your hand and gain trust to bond with the bird. You will see the difference after couple of weeks.

It is up to individual bird. I think your amazon did not socialise well so you may need more time to gain the trust of the bird.
Spend roughly 4 sessions per day (before n after work) and around 15-30mins each session.
