Hi Pat

I am a newbie, new to this forum and new to ranchus. Admire most TVR from Japan.

Love your site and learn a lot from all of your threads.

Bought some ranchus overweekend, just wanna learn and be fimiliar with ranchus.

But I m wondering why my ranchu seems weird with the shape and head(small)? They are now in 4-5cm. Need your point of view and comments.

PS: The fish farm owner told me they were 3rd generation of Jap ranchus.....I m not sure.

Your point of view and comments, Thanks again.

Cheers
Rol

Sorry for the delay in answerin but it's better late than never, right.

Any how, there's nothing wrong with that fish at all, it just hasn't had a lot of live feed to generate the head growth. Try using BW (live, or frozen) and do not feed any pellet feed. Also add some vegetable to the diet, promise you that this fish will make you proud, one day. Keep up the good work, aight.

Thanks!

Hi

Thanks for the all the comments and advices! Encouraging!

I realised that they are more SVR than top view, anyway I got the fish from one small fish farm in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. I remembered the fish farm owner mentioned that they were from Ogawa's fish.

I will updates more images in the near future.

You are lucky to have shops that carry nice ranchu so close by. Check back with us and give us a buzz and let us see how your baby is growing. We are here to help if you need any as well.
