Difference between Samoyed and Japanese Spitz

Would appreciate someone to advise me what the difference between samoyed and japanese spitz? Noticed that AVA allow owner to keep Japanese Spitz but how about Samoyed? They look alike to me. Thinking of getting one samoyed but need to confirm 1st.

Samoyed

Japanese Spitz

These dogs actually under spitz family... but you see, Samoyed is big... Japanese Spitz is medium breed.

Think about it, a Japanese Spitz around 5 to 7kg.... and bout 35cm in height.

A Samoyed weighs 20 to 30kg and stands about 60cm in height.

Jap Spitz are more indoor type and suitable for apartment living I would say, Samoyed is more of a working dog, they need space to excercise...
