Lack of UV & Skin Problem
I have observed as a groomer that a high number of dogs with persistent skin problems are those that don't go outdoors at all. I suspect the connection is real since some exposure to UV is suppose to be beneficial to ours skin. Anybody have something in this regard to share?

i dun agree ..... cos my boy n butter do hv skin problem but my ms dun hv and they dun go out as often as my cocker lor skin problem .... usually what u feed the dog play a big role in controlling the condition. eg for dog with inherit skin pro --- if u control the diet it will improve. |
haha, finally someone interested in Skin condition :D
Dorothy I have no argument with what you said. What I am saying though is that lack of UV could be one contributing factor. Of course diet plays a big part in good health, no question about it. It is even strongly suggested that stress gives way to illnesses, one of them being skin conditions. We already know that the immune system is weakened when animals are under stress. ;) |
ya stress is the contributing factor ..... not to be taken lightly :D :D
they will stress when hot weather, not hving their daily walk, stress when bitch on heat ... etc btw, i will keep my dogs coat short due to hot weather, especially when i m feeling very hot. with that kind of coat on them even hotter than me so i will shave away their coat to keep them cool. :p |
