Hi, how about those "complete food" pellets specially made by Tetra?
Are they good? |
but once the stick in the water quickly becomes soft & sort of melts ways into powder form so makes the water cloudy, anyone have these experince?

I think most pelletized food are just not good for Arro's, IMHO.
They cluter your filter, litter your tank. I have found that Market prawns, Frogs, Small Fishes and Bugs are the best bet for the health of your Arro's. With the Regular diet being the Market prawns. If indeed the only available option is pellet food then raise the water change level. Higher than 50 % to your time table. For those who use think that SW & BW or Red Pellets improve the pigmentation of the colouration, it is not true. The only agents that will at all, if possible enrich the Colour is, plenty of good aged water maintained constantly in the Tank, and your initial choice of a good breed Aro. The rest is just pure speculation at best and lack of information at worse: with regards to colour change in Fishes. Just my Two Ringgits at work. |
Arowana is a carnivorous fish. In wild, its food consist mainly insects, fishes, prawns, worms and small amphibians. Live food are preferred by arowana though they can be trained to accept other food. Variety in food is a MUST to avoid nutritional deficiency. Small arowana twice a day and large arowana once a day or alternate day. High fat food like feeder fish should only be used sparingly to avoid drop eye problem. Overfeeding can also shorten the lifespan of arowana and affect its breeding capability.
