HELP!!something might b wrong with my cat!!
 

My cat faeces have turn dark green n there will always be blood on the faeces n its anus..it has been happening for a few days and very troubled with this..i have not visit the vet yet...if anyone of u had experience this with ur cats, or if u happen to noe y this is happening, pls tell me asap k? thanks!!!

You really should bring your cat to a vet ASAP. Blood in its stools is a very bad sign. Your cat is only suffering now, without medical care.

Some reasons could be kidney failure, stones, obstruction in the digestive system etc ( I am guessing based on dogs though, but it should apply to cats too)

how old are they? have they been dewormed? worms can cause bloody stools too.. but as chins suggests pls go to the vet asap. even tho we might be able to guess what is wrong.. we still cannot cure the cats! fyi once back from vet to harden up the stool.. revert to a diet of boiled and deboned chicken only at all mealtimes. halt the dry food until the poo is back to normal.

niwae, i just went to vet with my dad and bro just now in the late afternoon...the doc seems unsure but she just frankly dat she never come across any cat with bright green stools...so she adked me what might the cat had eaten..so i said maybe tissue or plastic flowers cos he lyk to shew on it..but then the doc said it cant be becos of dat as the cat will vomit out the rubbish dat he cannot swallow orelse it will get stuck in the digestive system...so the doc did a faecal test and found out dat there's only a small amount of bacteria and no worms at all...there shudn't be any worm as i had already dewormed him and whenever i bring him out, i will always carry him...so the doc just said that "oh..i will give you the medicine for him to take ok...i will treat it as diarhea..." is it a good sign? no i don't think so...cos actually the doc do not know what was wrong with my cat as dis is the first tym she come acroos a cat with broght green stools..but hey...she is an animal doc..how could she charged me so expensively lyk dat wen she herself do not know what's the real problem?? so y thw need to visit the clinic? hmm...it seriously get me thinking...she is quite a young age i could say but to me, by the look of her face, she seems REALLY REALLY REALLY unsure....haiyo.......

Which vet did you visit? Maybe you should visit a more experienced vet for a second opinion?

i brought my kitties to Mount Pleasant Animal Clinic at serangoon North quite a few times already..the few times were a drifferent doc...she was very experience and good..but unfortunately, that previous time, it was a different one...

I'm not so sure about this, other than that I am not sure it helps since I post this reply long after the last post. Just want to share my experience. It could be gastritis. Clear tools with blood is a symptoms of middle stage, I suppose.
I don't know how to describe it, but if you had had a chance to know a person got really ill for gastritis - you'll recognize the same problem in cats. The main symptom is the spesific smell of the tools.
Bacteria cause irritation to the digestion system, there comes blood which in turn makes everything even worse. Blood is an excellent media for bacteria to develop.
If this is the case I believe that Metronidazole should do it. Metronidazole is very safe, acts as "antibiotics". I once used it for my newly bought 3 mos old kitten.

god.. ok try animal clinic sunset way, namly clinic, and when all is lost try animal recovery centre. they are expensive but good. do not self medicate unless its a simple case of deworming.
chins: sg no good cat vets i'm afraid. really. very sad. \
i've experienced that a few times.. : come back after a few days of this antibiotic.. and we'll see if she's ok...
i cant find anything wrong. ask for a blood test the next time round. insist on it. giardia bacteria cannot be detected in the stool samples. read up about cat health because i tell u.. u have more chance of diagnosing it from home than at the vets--- just means u go to the vet n tell her wat tests to run. in any case even if the blood test shows nothing at least u know tt she is ok.
