Shaving

Hi all in petsfanatics, my dog have skin problems. Considered mild to minor. Will shaving helps my dog in improving his condition? As in to say, heal completely?

Very unlikely. If you consider "cause and effect", having hair on their body is not the cause then logically shaving itself won't help. In cases of severe skin problem, shaving is recommended not so much to heal but the advantage is
the medicated wash gets better contact with the skin, optimising the healing properties of the medicine and you are better able to visually monitor the progress.

Hi
You can try changing the diet to fish diet. also add some cod liver oil to his food. That was what the vet recommended to me when my Bobby had skin problems previously. After the change in diet, Bobby's skin condition fully recovered and the fur was shinier. And he never suffered another skin problem. futher, he lived a good 15 years.
