Help!!!
 

Hey, is there anyone out there can help me? I have a pair of rabbit (Angora Mix Lionhead), female...about 3 month to 4 month old...I keep them indoor, but they simply shit everywhere...I heard they can be trained so they dont simply shit... :confused:
Another thing is ...is it a problem if I put the two rabbit together? will they fight each other? :confused:

To address your first issue, I am afraid that they can't be taught not to poop or pee. However, they can, like dogs and cats, be taught to do it in appropriate places such as the litter boxes. This is called litter-training and is easily accomplised with time and patience, as well as proper methods used. You will need a litter tray before you begin this.

As for your 2nd question, you simply CANNOT just placed the rabbits together. This has to be done properly. If not, they will most certainly have fights. Esp if they have always been seperated and are in no way related. Of course, the issue is made much easier if your bunnies were spayed(its a hormone thing).

If you want your bunnies to be able to bond, you have to socialise them together properly and slowly. Let them slowly know each other and be familiar with each other's scent. Don't rush into it. You may only be doing more harm than good. It wouldn't surprise me to find blood everywhere if you just let them together (please don't think i am exaggerating..)

actually u don have to purposely train your rabbit.. u juz confine him in his cage for 2-3 days n let him eat, pee, poo, drink all in e cage.. then u can let him out.. then he should be able to go to his cage to pee n poo while u let him come out n play..this may take some time but after a few times he will make his way to e cage to pee n poo.. :bigsmile:

Sorry-I don't really get what you mean that by keeping the bunny in its cage for 2~3 days, the rabbit will then be able to know where to poop and pee.Maybe you would like to share more?

So far,in the years i have kept bunnies, I have had about 40 rabbits and none of them has ever been able to do that so fast. If it was that simple, why do we still need litter trays??

I don't mean to sound harsh but..By writing what you just did, you may result in the bunnies being kept in their cages, with no exercise, just so that the method can be tested.

For those who want to litter train/bond their bunnies, please try a yahoo! search on `litter taining' or `rabbit bonding'. There should be enough information to give you a rough idea on how to proceed doing so in the right manner.

Hey, thanks for your information, well, as I know rabbit like to be free so I dont just keep them in cage all the time. Maybe I will try the litter-training. Actually i get only one rabbit one month ago, then I feel that the rabbit kind of lonely...so I decide to get a second one as companion...unfortunately...they seem to fight...so I seperate them...later after a week...I try to put them together again...they seem quite OK now...but I just worry maybe when they grow up...they will fight gain... :confused:
hey chinsandhollandlops, heard you have 40 over rabbit...mindme asking whether you are selling it or as hobby?

My rabbits are my pets but i do breed occasionally as a hobby. Unfortunately, due to my severe space constraint, i only keep holland lops and no other breeds. I used to keep locals, crosses etc a few years back but they have all passed away from old age.
