Japanese Spitz

Hi all!!

I am interested in getting a Jap Spitz but I understand from one pet shop owner that Jap Spitz will bark excessively..is that true?

The lady also mentioned that if its from good bloodline (champion/show dogs) then perhaps it will be more easily trained and won't bark as much...and if its not from the above mentioned bloodline, it will be harder to train and will bark excessively..if she going to import one from good bloodline will be around $2000 plus....

If I bring the pup out for pup training and socialisation, will it helps?

Does anyone know where I can get a Jap Spitz?

Looking forward to ur replies...... :)

Hi Ningning,

I would like to be able to help you, especially with the Japanese Spitz breed as I am a fond fancier of the Spitz family.

This breed is very adaptable and can live in most conditions. Being fairly light in weight, they are not likely to knock over frail people, or young children, but they need daily walks and company of human being. They are easy to train, but ,of course you have to show them what you want of them! Training must start as a young age. Socialisation helps a great deal.

It is a delightful small breed dog with erect pointed ears give the Japanese Spitz its alert, intelligent look, and they are both; alert and intelligent, as well as being an active, whose acute hearing enables them to warn you of a stranger on your property.

The coat is not as difficult to maintain as it looks, althought white, it does not stain easily, (unless its urine stains) and dirt can be brushed off with corn flour or normal powder. They do not smell or have doggy odour due to dry skin conditions.

Importation of any breed would be more expensive due to freight charges and pedigree papers, registration etc. But they good news is that you have a registered pedigreed dog which you can brag about, show or otherwise. However, not all such dogs are of perfect or near perfect quality, it cannot be, as it is live animals. So yes, it can well be above 2K as explained. Just be careful where you import or purchase your Japanese spitz from, as you dont want to be an unhappy bunny!

Hope this helps...

:)
