Well, many would go againts feeding rice... any sort of grains to dogs coz it is considered as a filler in their food... true, it is used as a filler but complex carbo is good source of energy as we humans need it too.

I have 4 dogs... 1 lab, 2 boxers and 1 cavalier spaniel... my large dogs eat holistic dog food.... means no corn, no wheat.. but they use brown rice as a filler.

My cavalier king charles spaniel eats BARF, means raw food... she gets raw minced chicken meat and minced bones, liver, some organs, vegies and brown rice... doing very well and I do see a difference when feeding dog with raw food... but the drawback is its messy, you need to get the freshest foods you can get and you cannot leave it out in room temperature for long also... and must deworm dog often...
