Dear Friends,
Today I would like to share with you our success in breeding the Batman Rays. As some of you may know already that, recently I have expanded my operation to include the breeding of Motoro Freshwater Rays, Sideview Ranchu, Discus, and other GF varieties. I have to say that I have been awe struck by our Rays operation. It is quite new for me, and I find it very fun and rewarding. My associate farm in the Northeast of Thailand is one of the biggest producer of Motoro Freshwater Rays here in Thailand. We have over 100 seeds in our operation. We could produce over 300 Motoro every 4 months through out the year.
What are Batman Rays? It is quite similar to the prized Arowana King (with the hump back). Once in a while, if you breed Motoro long enough you will be endowed with the Batman Rays. They are a kind of deformed rays that look exactly like the Batman sign. Please kindly refer to the pictures below.
I do understand that there are a log of skepticism when any one in the business talk about Batman Rays. Many people will tell you that it is something that you have to cut up the young Motoro Rays in order to get one. The Rays that I am about to show is exactly one month old. They are about the size of your palm. I will let the pictures to the talking for this matter. (But I do not think that it is possible to cut up such a young Ray that badly and still it will survive.)
We have been very excited for over a month, but as any expert rays breeders will tell you that the first month of the young rays life is most crucial for it's survival. As soon as we could train the rays to eat fresh shrimp, that's when we can be sure that we can now celebrate. These 3 Batman Rays that you are about to see are not our first offsprings. We have been successful in breeding 4 of them in the past, but none of them survived after one month. The last one died only after 45 days. I really believe that the introduction of Goldawick viatmins in our rays operation has made the difference.
Without further ado, here are the pictures of my most proud Batman Rays bred right here in Thailand. The first series is the tank that we use as the nursery for the past month.
