Hi Honeybunny,

As per mention by crazymouse_yyh, some time it is depend on the luck...

Well, the good news is that we can increase the possibility by giving them the 'best' condition or environment... and also good food...

However, the not so good news is that breeding bird need lots of commitment from the breeder...

Here is some simple fact about breeding cockatiel:
- not all pair will successfully produce baby for us(even they lay egg)
- best result can be achieved if we let they pair up by themself.
- 2-3 years old female is best for breeding
- most tame pet cockatiel is not a good parent

Here is some tip to encourage them to nest:
- suitable breeding cage (not so small)
- provide nestbox
- the pair must not be disturb
- no other BOP/CAT/ etc nearby which make the bird afraid
- control the food*

* control the food doesn't mean you limit their food but provide different portion of food to them

Hope it help
