What you wrote is correct for most males as well as you wrote "tend to be...", there are also males that somehow sustain their bory weight and coat condition well. My Don is a good example, even a FIFe judge thought that he was desexed first time she looked at nearly 4 years male in a show with coat condition that she called as "superb", you can also look at Jadon cattery website one of their male retains the perfect coat condition to the age of 9 years (I looked at another pic of this cat at CFA Yearbook at 10 years old and still the same coat condition!!). This cat, Daby has produced more than 25 CFA GC as far as I know. So, he has sired many litter and retain perfect condition.

I don't know what causes this different as Don's sire, Damba tends to be on the thinner side as you wrote and so Damba's sire Hickory Star Dynamite.
