Stick to a reputable established brand of dry food that works with your dog. Home cooked food is ok provided you know the nutritional needs of the dog is fully provided. The disadvantage with home cooked meals is that the dog will most likely reject dry food. You then have to always make it available even when the 'cook' is busy or unavailable.
