There was no gas seen but the puppy was positioned at the top right hand of Girl's womb. Now we had to try to put her on Oxytoxin drip to help induce her contractions in order for her to expel the pup.
there was still 50% - 50% chance that the pup had oredi passed away in Girl's womb. still all gloom at this point.
we had to wait for the Oxytoxin drip to be administered over 15 mins. again we had to wait: UNCERTAINLY!
After about 20 mins, the vet came out and told us the drip wasnt working and sought our permission to run another dose of Oxytocin. Again, another period of gloom and uncertainty enveloped us. chances of the pup being alive was getting slimmer with every sec ticking by.
When another 20 mins were up, the vet came out and told us the drip wasnt working at all as girl's uterus had probably lost the strength to contract anymore. She also said that the pup had probably died in the womb by now!
This was the last straw, dunno bout the others but my world went into darkness knowing the pup faced almost certain death and Girl's life was in the balance.
With a heavy heart, we gave the vet the go ahead for a C- section to extricate the supposedly dead pup from Girls womb to prevent any infection. U guys can imagine what was going thru my head at this point of time!
with an even heavier heart, I signed the consent form for the operation and we left Girl with the vet to do what she had to do.
