Yes, I agree. I read up abt it as well, when my bf asked me the same question. He was only pondering it, cos he saw the vege diets available for dogs now, in the pet shop.
To most cat breeders on the net, the answer is no cos cats require a higher protein diet than dogs, and are almost entirely pure carnivorous. I dunno if it has to do with digesting animal and vege protein, but cats do not fare well on a vege diet. They will almost certainly lack some type of nutrient unless the person preparing the diet is very careful and conscientious. And for ppl who attempt such a diet on their cat, they need to add many types of supplements into the food they prepare, just to reach the same nutrition components of a meat diet.
