The number of fish that members can enter the competition is limited, I think. I am not too sure about the number that one member can send. I do not yet have a fish that I think will be qualified to enter the competition this year yet. I am looking forward to joining a smaller competition first.
One thing that I would like to make clear is that, the ranchu that will qualify for the competition in the future may not be ranchu from the Absolute Fisheries, it may as well be from one of the other leading breeders in Thailand. There are a few other experience breeders that are also breeding quality ranchu in Thailand such as Mr. Aod Koban of the Jaran Group, Mr. Parnu (Peter) and Mr. Jatupon (A), for expample. The quality of all our TVRs will be the deciding factor. Thus far I foresee many competitors that will be keen to win this honour. Not only do our fish will have to compete with the best of the TVRs bred in Thailand by various breeders, but we will have to compete against the best of the Japanese fish that are currently residing in Thailand.
Personally, I believe that it is this form of organized and proper competitions under strict standard between all the breeders that will lead to the betterment of the overall quality TVRs bred in Thailand. It is a dream of mine to see Thai fish winning honour at the AJRS, even if that fish is not bred by me. The mechanisms that will be set up to cooperate with our colleagues in Japan will be the real gift to the TVR society of Thailand, and hopefully to the rest of the ranchu breeders in the other territories too.
