Ailments and Treatment
After the medications have been well mixed, close the pond up so that no sunlight can get in and do not reopen the pond up againg until seven days have passed. (Sunlight will deteriorate the effectiveness of the medicine.)
I hope that this treatment will be of help for those of you who run into the gill problem. Many hobbyist have told me that this treatment also work well with other ailments as well. I will leave it up to you to try it out. You may have to tweak the system a bit to best suit your style. I would like to offer a few words of caution, try to use strict dosage for all medications, and learn to diagnose the different ailments properly. A little studying, goes a long way for the sickness of your fish. Instead of waiting for the fish to die, you should at least try your best to fix them. I try not to use medicine to fix every thing. Most time I will use just salt and fasting to fix minor health problems. The longer you use certain medicines, the more the germs will get use to the medicines, and you will have to keep increasing the dosage over the long run. Only experience can guide you here. You have to know when you fish is getting sick and when it is getting better. Feel free to drop us a line if you have any questions about the treatment or the medications.
Thank you very much Mr.Kashino for your kind assistance and for the excellent pictures.
