Well, let me think.... Peppy my first African Grey was selected out of a cage of growling wild caught CAG. And there was Johnny the Lesser Sulphur Crested Cockatoo and Polly the Blue Fronted Amazon; they were biting birds when I first bought them.
The key to taming parrot is really to build "TRUST" first. Lots of interaction and feeding their favourite food. Teaching the "Step-up" is important as well. New parrotowners, even experienced owners as I've observed sometimes lack the skill of getting the bird to Step-up.
