QUESTIONS
a) Are there so call Pure Breed or Pedigree for such breed?
Purebreed means of pure breeding.... Pedigree, it normally refers to the certs and linage.... both are almost equal in meaning when it comes to purchasing a dog.
b) As attachment, why those are from the same breed yet the looks are totally different?
Miniature Daschund comes in all sorts of colours that are recognized... well, the right one in the pic is an older dog, thus it shoes the small head and longish face. Puppies when they are born till 2 months have short faces.... You got a red on the right, the left one is a black and tan.
c) Does it mean buying a better breed would lessen the genetic health problems?
Well, if you simply get one from a petshop or commercial breeder, you will never know if it will have genetic problems or not till it is too late. One way to know would be to find a breeder that keeps a health record of all his adults, that he has done routine check ups and test on common genetic problems. Also, ask the breeder to show you his adult dogs and see how they walk, their body structure, temperament and behaviour. In order to know quality dogs from the poor quality ones, you would need to really research and study the breed carefully. Read all you can, get books and look at pictures.
d) How much does it cost to maintain such a dog?
Well, I'm Malaysian so won't know how much it would be in Singapore.
e) Is it available in Singapore?
I think it is available. It is available in Malaysia, top champion lines are like RM1.5k to Rm2k while pet quality with no cert would only cost Rm500.
f) Where to buy and how do we know they are a trusted dog breeders?
g) What is the market rate for such breed?
Will leave this for others to answer.
h) Does all dogs mouth get smelly when they grow old?
It really depends on how you upkeep. If you practice oral hygiene like cleaning and brushing your dog's teeth with dog toothpaste or diluted sodium bicarbonate, and avoid eating canned dog food or cooked/processed human food. That should keep the mouth smelling fresh.... then if you like, you can always bring the dog for teeth scaling once a year but that would only be necessary if the smell or teeth are bad.
