A grey should molt between 08-18mths. During 8 months it'll start dropping the small downy white feathers all over your floor. At about 18 months there seems to be another molt but this is just another obvious part of the "first" molt.
it is very easy to monitor the molting progress since Grey's first tail feathers are edged with slightly black tip.
African Grey may be known as to be the best talkers among all parrots. However this does not mean that they will all talk if having a Grey for that reason is not acceptable. A human also takes at least 1 yr to talk so do not expect too much from him. The most important thing now is build your rapport between your grey and you.
Greys are a loving and wonderful companionship.
Please don’t get a Grey because Greys "talk".
