To The Driver of a Certain Black Hatchback Car

Were you spring cleaning when you decided to spring clean the dog away as well?
Did you have enough of ticks crawling up your walls?
Did you have enough of loud barking and whining?
Did you have enough of placating the dog’s huge appetite?
Did you have enough of doggy odor emitting from the dog?
Did you decide the small space used for confining the dog during the past years could be put to better use?
Did you decide dealing with hundreds of ticks and the dog’s skin problems were too much of a hassle and a waste of money?
Did you starve and neglect the poor dog until he was skinny, weak and couldn’t walk steadily?
Did you then decide: “This is the day. This is the day I will drive the dog over to that house in the early morning hours, shove him out of the car and command him to ‘Stay’.”? Knowing, the obedient dog that he is will wait where he was told to.
Did you think you can foist your responsibilities onto others??!!
Did you tell your daughter “Don’t worry, doggie will make lots of new friends there.”?
Did she then cry and begged before you reluctantly drove her past my home so that she could see her beloved?
Did you purposely drive in a direction less often taken so that she could be seated on the same side of the street as my home to peer out of the open car window?
Did you purposely drive slowly, swerve onto my driveway before swerving away even though you could have easily driven in a straight line at a faster speed?

If your answer is “yes”, I say to you: YOU ARE A IRRESPONSIBLE, IMMATURE, COWARDLY MAN! SHAME ON YOU! PLEASE NEVER COME BACK. It’s heart-wrenching to watch the dog being anxious and whine sadly when you appeared. He does so too whenever a black car with a similar sounding engine goes past.
