Red face Some Questions

Hi guys, a few questions abt hving chins as a pet.
There are some newbie quesions, but i realy liek to clear my doubts before hving one as a pet. =)

[1] Do they really nid to be provided with air-cons?
I've seen some forums saying not a nessaccary thing to do but best provide if possible.
So if i cant provide them, will they be able to survive ( with their thick fur and all )?

[2] Chins nids a huge space to run around, so is it a must to let them roam abt in rooms? Being fast runners and love jumpin around, how will they knw its time to return to their homes(cage)? I mean they wont love to be handled by our hands often so... =/

[3] Can they stand little bit of noise? Like TV's? 'Cos from wat i've read, they hv a really really quiet enviornment?

yes most of us cant afford to give them 24hrs but we do give them afew hrs of aircon esp durin hot afternoon. havin ceramic hidin house n cooling plate will help alittle. but i still feel its a must to give aircon during hotter mths. there r pple who dun keep chins in aircon but got to be caution of heatstroke.

they need daily out-of-cage time. areas should be chin-proof as they like to chew on anything n everything. i dun let them run ard in my whole room but i fence up part of it as their playin area. if u let them out everyday at the same time.... still to the same routine. they will noe they its their play time n when they have to go back to their cage. chins r smart.

i read from chin.com, many hobbyist who have rehomed chins actually let them watch tv. but of cos during their awake hrs. they need a quiet environment in the day. a noisy environment will give them stress. one of my boy will sit on my lap n watch tv with me every night.

Ah, thx for the info but sad to say i guess my parents arent letting me kip one.
Reasons are:
[1] 'Cos its huge ( but chubby XD )
[2] 'Cos i am currently having some lil hammies under me.

Might be considering getting one when i am working hahax..
They sounds like intel creatures of the nite, but do they really sit and watch tv with you? o.o Sounds kindda cute oo

Chins aren't really suitable as cuddle-pets. Some chins, of course, enjoy it, but it really depends on the individual chin

Well, as mentioned before, some like it, some don't.

In general, chins can tolerate being held for 5 ~ 15 mins. Just don't expect them to sit still with you for over an hour etc at the same spot

I aircon my chins 24/7, as i find that without aircon, their fur is too damp and gives off a `sticky` texture. I think the min should be 12 hours aircon in the day at least.

They need and love toys and hidely holes. It helps keep off the boredom. The bigger the cage, the better. But make note of how large the gaps are etc between the wires, as you don't want their feet to get caught.

Any other questions, feel free to ask.

Do chins love human accompany? Erm like, my hammies always gets excited when they "smell" me coming near their cage.

If i can provide 4 hrs of aircon during the warm days in sg, is tat ok for them? I dun tink my parents will let me hv a 6 hrs aircon for them, let alone 24/7. If 4 hrs isnt enuff, then i cant kip one ^^; dun wanna risk the chin of getting heatstroke >_<
