i understand that this breed does not do very well in our hot weather because of the thick coat. Must be house indoor in air-con environment, am i right?

Very cute!! I think the breed looks terrific with all that white fur. But I think must keep indoors. Not in the sun. As for air-con, I dunno. My bf keeps a husky, but no air-con. Only kept in the house. Her fur and body is in very gd condition.

Samoyed

To reply to some enquiries, here are some information which I thought might be of interest following my original post.

The Samoyed originates from Siberia and has a few names apart from the Breed name. They are called many things by their owners but these are what most people call them. An informal name is "SAMMY"

This is because the nomads would nestle up to them in their environment with the temperatures well below freezing they used the warmth that Samoyed generated to keep them warm.

They are also called the laughing dog because with their dark eyes, Black lips and their pink tongues it looks like they are laughing at you, and some of them do this as well as any human being.

So called by some people that no matter what they do or how they do it they are still loved. These are one of the most versatile breed of dogs. They are a very hardy breed easy to train if you have the patience and have good memories they are a very clever and intelligent and good tempered breed and most of all the most faithful to the hand that feeds them. They can also be very Stubborn to people who mistreat them.

Most importantly, the Samoyeds are just as hardy as the siberian huskies, alaskan malamute and all nordic breeds. Hence, as long as they are NOT left in the direct sun or heat, they do as well if not better than the short coated breed because they have a light reflective coat quality and prevents sun burn. SO ... NO NO NO ... THIS BREED NEED NOT be in air-con 24/7 BUT do enjoy the cool air (like everyone in this HOT country!!)

Should anyone have further questions, please feel free to e-mail me at: igph@yahoo.com

Hi everyone, just a suggestion, it wld be better to pm the seller if you want to discuss the price. I believe his price is very reasonable for such a lovely dog. And a white dog will never turn yellow as long as proper care is given.

Yes, thank you Clover ! Yes, as with all white coated dogs, care must be given to protect it from staining. The white will not turn yellow on its own per say, unless its been stained, which is why I recommend her to be a house dog. You`ll be amazed just how sparkling clean it will be as long as it does not get wet. The Samoyeds DOES NOT have any doggy odour and will only require a bath once every 3-4 weeks. (yes, this long!) The end result is a eye catching stunning breed that will turn heads !

Cheers Guys,
