Pat, thanks for posting the guppies pics to tease me... Hahaha
Guess you know by now I am into guppies.
Don't discuss the Balloon guppies with show guppies enthusiates, they hate it. It's viewed as a deformed fish.

Your first fish look good though. I suppose it should be called a 'Blond Red Snakeskin Spadetail'. Quite a mouthful I know. This kind of 'odd shape tail' is rather popular in Europe. There are also the Pin Tail, Sword Tails (Top, Bottom and Double), Round Tail etc.

The second fish probably won't attract a second glance.

BTW I drooled looking at your Ranchu. I especially like the Chinese Lion Head one? Too bad I won't have the time and energy to branch into that.

That's quite a mouthful. I thought that I would get comments from you cause I know nothing about these babies. I hope that I could ask you some questions about these beauties sometime. I have a friend who breeds them religiously and he asked me to help him and I find that the most difficult thing is that I couldn't find out about all their actual names. Case and point, is what you have pointed out. Very valuable knowledge, I feel a bit like a duck out of water.

I have been looking through all the guppies pictures that were sent to me and I have to say that close up shots really show how beautiful and detailed these fish are. Thank you very much for your comments about the Balloon, I saw them and I thought that they were really cute. Never saw them before at all. I did not know that breeding guppies have been developed to such a point that there are so many varieties, patterns, colours, and forms. I quite like the Red Albino, very much. I think that they look really cool, and when you put a few in a tank with nice plants, they stand out beautifully.

Hope that you won't mind some inquisitive PM in the future from me about these beauties. Cheers.

Pat, you are such a polite and humble guy. Look, when it comes to Ranchu and Gold Fish I suppose I am the one like a Duck out of water..hehehe.

Actually there are very nice Thai Guppies, world class I would say. No different from your Ranchu activities. You Thais are so good you can maintain and develop the standards of all sorts of ornamental fishes imported form Japan and elsewhere.

Lots of our guys buys Guppies from Bangkok farms and Chatuchak.

Thai people are quite gifted about breeding ornamental fish. We get lots of help from every day hobbyists when we run into a new specie. One day I hope to be able to make ranchu as easy as ABC for all.

I will have to study up on the fish that are world class from Thailand. YOu have certainly raised my interest. Will do my homework and see if I could bring more pictures to tease you.
