Bath Dust for Chinchillas
I think one of the best brands right now is Blue Cloud, but it's not easily accessible at every pet shop. The Wild brand chinchilla dust is ok with me too, cos it's fine enough. Kaytee chinchilla dust is actually re-packed Blue Cloud, so you can buy that.
But the container is not moisture-proof. ![]() Some people use Sluis brand or superpet brand, which are more coarse-grained. This is alright if the owner is allergic to fine dust, but I personally feel that fine dust will give a better look to the fur. ![]() |

The 2 most recognised brands in the states are blue cloud and blue sparkle.
Unfortunately, i have not seen blue sparkle in Singapore. Blue sparkle is slightly coarser than blue cloud. An american breeder reccomended that i stick to blue cloud after i asked her if i should change to another brand...hence, i am sticking too it... IMO, finer grained bath dust is able to clean their fur better. This results in shinier chins...A brand that is fast gaining popularity in singapore is vitapol (i have not tried it for my chins but i heard that it is good for stain removal) Kaytee is slightly more expensive than blue cloud i think...have to check it out..I tried Sluis many years ago but i feel that Blue Cloud has a better effect...lol |

Kaytee is more expensive yes. Especially if you buy Blue Cloud in bulk.

I do buy my blue cloud in bulk. Sometimes in 50 lb bags, lol. ![]() |
