Thanks PYKoh and RanchuLover, yes I understand what you mean. This would raise the following questions for me: if the champion ranchus (as mentioned in the post and not by me) and if most AJRS champs (which are selected from hundreds of competition standard Ranchus) do not pass the 3 circle test most of the time, can I now ask the question who says that the 3 circle test is a proper test? I can fully accept that it is a proper test but can I ask for the Nichiran standards in English to see the standards for myself? In any event, the 3 circle test may not be mentioned in the Nichiran standards as it may be an unwritten law/test accepted by all AJRS Japanese hobbyists. Can I ask whether this is the case? I am more interested to see the standards for all its contents and not just for the 3 circle test and shall be grateful if you can kindly let me take a look at them. Next, just by looking at the post (in the other thread) with the 3 circles over the Ranchu, it is clearly unclear how one is suppose to draw the 3 circles, would you not agree? eg whether the 1st circle is to touch the end of the gill plate? where is the second circle suppose to touch? I presume the last circle is to touch the ends of the tail? With regard to a balanced Ranchu body, where are the second and third circles suppose to start? Is this 3 circle test a Nichiran standard test but not stated in the Nichiran Standards? Lastly, is the 3 circle test applicable only to oyas? Do the AJRS champs in the tosai, nisai and oya categories in the past years usually satisfy the 3 circle test? I am not asking for the perfect Ranchu; I am asking with regard to a balanced Ranchu. If most AJRS champs do not satisfy the 3 circle test, does it mean that they are unbalanced?

ps I do not know and therefore I ask and hopefully it is acceptable that I ask for the reasons (or how to go about drawing the 3 circles) supporting the statements made. I have no intention of being rude or impolite.
