Smile Keepers Profile

Sawasdee krap to all members of the Petsfanatics Ranchu Club. It has been a while since I have introduced any new thread on ranchu. Today I would like to start a new serie of thread which will be the profile of ranchu keepers from our neck of the wood and beyond. The future serie could be on one of you! Please send me any suggestions that you may have and we will try to see what we can do.

Today I would like to introduce a good friend of mine to you. His name is Mr.Pop. For those of you who venture to the ranchushop.com you may have run into one of his threads before. He is strictly a hobbyist, but a hobbyist with a twist. His ponds at home are almost the same size as my farm, this is no lie. He is a true ranchu nut. Mr.Pop is also the treasury for our annual competition in Thailand namely the All Thailand Ranchu Show.

Mr.Pop is not only a good friend but also one of my strongest supporter in Thailand. When I first met Pop, we were buying our fish from the same source and we were also competing against each other in various competitions in Thailand. Pop used to keep only the best Japanese TVR that he could get his hands on, just like most of us in the old days. Through our close friendship he has been able to observe the progress of our efforts in breeding ranchu in Thailand. He has observed our development and is now a stern supporter of ranchu bred in Thailand. Mr.Pop often say to me that since he started to buy Thai ranchu, he finds that he gets the best bargain with Thai bred competition fish. (You can get a bargain if you are a good judge of TVR's quality.)

I hope that my friends story will help to give encouragement to those who are actively pursuing this wonderful hobby of breeding ranchu for competition. No matter where you are, I promise you that you will be able to breed good ranchu with a bit of help from your friends. I hope that through our peaceful interaction in this forum, we will be able to foster great friendship and cooperataion between all ranchu lovers every where towards a true global ranchu community. The spirit of good, clean competition always gives any efforts more life. May be together we can develop fish that rival those from Japan.

The first picture will be of the All Thailand Ranchu Show 2004 Staff, Mr.Pop is in red standing behind Mr.Kashino. The bigger fish in all the pictures are of Mr.Pop's Competition Absolute Ranchu that he has purchased from my farm over the years, and all the Japanese BBRs and CBRs are those that he sourced from us this year. I hope that you will enjoy the picture show, and keep up your good work. Peace and sawasdee krap.

Smile Keeper Profile: Mr.Pop from Thailand

This is the last few pics, hope that you enjoy the beautiful fish. The picture of the last fish is an Abosolute Competition Tosai ranchu bred in Thailand. The last picture is of Mr.Pop busy with the arriving Oishi Comp fish. The latest update is that through a special raffle among our clients, Mr.Pop also won the right to choose first fish yesterday (July 18), lucky guy too.

I do hope to get to see every one when we get down this weekend. See ya and sawasdee krap.
