Ha ha I used to think too same same until I really took up dog seriously as a hobby. Eating raw beef will not make a dog vicious...dog if vicious can be due to various other reasons like when there is a threat or dog is of unsound mind.

Ya, me too. This is what I heard when I was young. There is no truth to it!

well, the logic is that they will associate blood with food so when the owner actually bleeds and the dog tastes the blood, they will associate the blood of the owner with food, thus attacking the owner. oh well, i am sticking to abady

Not true lah bro Torphaine...I was in West Virginia...100 dogs kennel...every morning one big frozen box of beef will be taken out of the freezer to thaw..by late afternoon after washing the runs, the dog get fed with dog food and then later we will push a cart with the thawed beef and just grab a handful and throw into the dogbowls for the dogs...all the time can see blood oozing from the softened beef....dogs will not get vicious from eating uncooked beef...it is more to do with the temperament and character of the dog....I promise that I will do an article on that(temperament and character)so that we all can share and know why dogs act the way they do especially why dog bite and growl etc.

My suggestion for healthy skin in our pets...

(1)..First and foremost a healthy balanced diet is important. Some say use barf..but how many of us know how to balance the diet and isn't it a bit troublesome? My suggestion is to use barf if you have the knowledge and time otherwise use the repertoire of dog foods readily available in our pet shops. I strongly believe that fresh meat must be added to your dog diet as an addition to dry dog food. CHOOSE your dog food carefully..educate yourself on the different ingredients listed on the bag of dog food.

(2)..Daily grooming is a must as dog hair goes through daily self renewal and if you don't brush out the old...dog hair can get matted and can cause skin irritation. Also any hidden insects like ants and ticks are brushed out rountinely in daily grooming. While grooming check the dog for good and profuse undercoat...if a dog's diet is well balanced and of good nutritional value...the dog should have good undercoat.

(3)..Good daily dose of fresh air and sunshine...this is self explanatory.

Regards
