Lovebird Clutch

Hello,

I am a new grandparent of 4 baby lovebirds. Their parents are taking real good care of them in their nesting box, however, it smells really bad! I was wondering if I could handle them without the parents becoming upset and disowning them? I would really love to clean out that area, it can't be good for them.

Also, can you tell me when it is safe to take them and put them into their own cages?

Thank you for your help.
