home-made formula ? growing chicks take alot of nutrients to grow. wrong content in the food they eat will result in malnutrition, so normally, even when you think they are full. without the right content of nutrients, they will "starve" to death.

Oh dear... so what would you suggest? I think my chick died from lack of the good bacteria from the parents feeding it.

Wah.. one day I must go Singapore and get my supplies lah.... KL here, not much.... very sayang when the chicks die... but I did get hold of a formula from the book I bought....

home-made formula
1/4 cup high protein baby cereal
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1/2 hardboiled egg
1/4 cup natural wheat germ
a few drops of milk

Didn't try loh.... sounds weird.... mine was last minute due to I didn't thought I will need to handrear it.... Parrot pellets crushed into powder and mix with hardboiled egg, oats and vitamin powder, all blended with a bit of water and given to he baby. At first all was well, bab was growing ok, then when I went away and was under myy bro's care, it stopped eating and died.....

a tin of nestrum wheat and honey will do a better job than the home-made formula you giving -.- birds cannot digest lactose, so giving them milk at a young age is not really advisable. still, the baby formula specialized for baby birds out in the market willbe your best bet when you want the birds to grow up healthy and strong
